Llyn Bodgylched is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (or ''SSSI'') in Anglesey, North Wales. It has been designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest since January 1968 in an attempt to protect its fragile biological elements, mainly a swamp.〔(Rural Council of Wales Website (Natural Resource Wales since 2013); ) accessdate: 30 December 2013〕 The site has an area of 16.37 hectares and is managed by Natural Resources Wales. ==Type== This site is designated due to its biological qualities. SSSIs in Wales have been notified for a total of 142 different animal species and 191 different plant species. Llyn Bodgylched has an embankment on the westside and a dam at the southern tip. This shallow basin on Precambrian rock of the Mona complex is made of boulder clay with an area of alluvium along the western side. Birds include: mute swan, tufted duck, shoveler, teal, water rail and reed warbler which breed at the lake. This site is of local importance for shoveler as well as a flock of European white fronted geese.
